Have you ever heard of an Energy Worker? Other
aliases are:
- Lightworker
- Reiki practitioner, usually Usui version
- Laying on of hands, usually in religious
practice
- Healing Touch
- Energy medicine
- Therapeutic Touch
- Quantum-Touch
- Vibrational medicine
Despite what you read in various skeptical
sources, I personally have felt energy movement through my body and
moving into other bodies. The more one does it, the more one can sense
it. The first time I had an energizing Reiki “treatment”, I thought I
would burst out of my skin! I then moved on to the soothing
complexities of Healing Touch classes taught by a very compassionate
soul. I can say that indeed there IS something to this strange spiral
energy…something that can be both energizing and relaxing at the same
time.
Most of the popular versions of energy work are
indeed bureaucratic overcomplications of something I think everyone can
manifest in a very real physical way, even on the first try. I don't
charge money for energy work. I prefer a type of barter system,
one gift for another. Like dinner or flowers or whatever. I think the
creativity in coming up with a barter can actually feed one’s energies
and I’m all for that!
There are various rituals, attunements, symbols,
hand sequences, words, and so on. But I prefer to get past that and
actually DO it. I personally like the chakra system, if not only for
the mental visuals of vivid colors and pure light. But that’s just me,
I’m a visual person.
If I were to come up with one word to sum up my
energy work, I would say “intention”. Like traditional magickal
teachings, the Magician, with his intentions, takes the esoteric and
transforms it into something one can work with. The good news is that
energy work happens even if you don’t know what you are doing per se.
Intention simply focuses it to where YOU want. Mind-body energy,
especially the holistic healing kind, goes to where it is needed in the
body. You are simply the carrier from the elements into yours or
another body. Intention gives you a little more control; even though,
as in all traditions, there is the paradox of being in control while
being out of control. Those of you who use energy work probably know
what I’m talking about here…
